DS Outlook #17 09/09/05
D. S. Animal Hospital opened officially on August 12th, 1985. While 20 years of business is rather sobering, it also is cause for celebration, which is the subject of this month’s installment.
Many of you may remember our four car garage conversion clinic on RR 12 where DSAH resided for more than 12 years. For the first several months it was just me and Traci Purcell who gracefully served as secretary, vet tech, housekeeper, bookkeeper, etc, etc. Drippin’ was … shall we say, a sleepier place back then. DSAH has grown along with our beloved Drippin’. Change brings a mixed bag of positives and negatives. While we celebrate the vastly improved care we are able to provide I often miss those simpler times. I’d like to think what remains of those days is our compassion and dedication to providing the best care we are capable of.
In keeping with the philosophy that one should never overlook a reason to celebrate, we have planned a party to honor our clients and celebrate our mutual accomplishment. Hoping for more comfortable weather the shindig is planned for Sat. evening October 29th at 6pm at the clinic. We welcome our clients and anyone else who wants to meet and greet and enjoy the festivities. We will serve soft drinks, have a jam session (bring instruments if ya got’m), as well as a live band (to be announced later). There’ll be horseshoes, ping pong, and a moonwalk and electric basketball for the kids. Bring a carved Halloween pumpkin to enter in our contest to win cool prizes (animal themes likely to impress the judges). We’ll have a Dunkin’ Booth where you can buy a chance to dunk me or other DSAH employees and the proceeds will benefit the ASPCA’s Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. We look forward to celebrating with you so watch for your invitation in the mail and more details as the time grows nigh.
