Early Diagnosis and Treatment We recommend thorough physical exams at least annually and blood work as your pet ages to establish baseline information and allow for early recognition of disease when treatment is most effective and affordable. Animals age much faster than humans. Annual exams are equivalent to an exam every 5 to 7 years for people!
In House Laboratory Our in house lab features advanced diagnostic equipment including blood chemistry analysis, Complete blood counts by laser technology, electrolytes and acid/base status (important for accurate fluid therapy). Our Fecal parasite exams are performed using centrifugation as recommended by the Companion Animal Parasite Council. Our doctors perform urinalysis and urine sediment analysis as well as interpretation of fine needle tissue samples, blood smears and impression smears.
Dental Diagnosis and Treatment DS Animal Hospital has invested in high quality, air powered dental tools just like your dentist probably uses. We believe in dental care and have the expertise and equipment to provide high quality dental services including ultrasound scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatment with routine dental prophylaxis as well as more advanced procedures like tooth sectioning and extraction, synthetic bone grafting and gum surgery. We also have dental x-ray equipment with table side x-ray developing to give your pet the best possible dental care while under anesthesia.
Radiology We have high quality x-ray equipment on site and the expertise to benefit fully from it. Our x-rays, once obtained, are digitized and included in your pet’s individual electronic medical record.
